OUR MISSION
The Morris Animal Refuge seeks to advance animal welfare by rescuing abandoned animals, providing them with basic care and, whenever possible, placing them in appropriate homes.
Through a variety of projects, the Morris Animal Refuge strives to promote humane pet care in the community.
For over 135 years, the Morris Animal Refuge has been committed to an intensive, careful adoption program that seeks to place animals in stable and permanent homes. To this end, the refuge staff and volunteers work with our animal population to furnish basic care and to reinforce their socialization. In accordance with our more general humane aims, all adopted animals are neutered prior to their release.
Other pet care initiatives undertaken by the refuge include a vigorous low-cost spay/neuter program that targets the entire Delaware Valley, aiming to both combat pet overpopulation and promote good health in individual pets. Also, the refuge has partnered with local dog-trainer Joseph White to produce a dog-training manual. |
